Just a thought. Anyone use running catch dogs? Seems like most people use bay dogs and a couple catch dogs. Thinking of crossing my female pitbull to a nice silent running plott. They have a cold nose and should throw dogs in a litter that will bay and most should catch. Anyone ever did this? I see people cross their BMC to a plott all the time to get a better nose. Why not to a good game pit dog? A pitbull is quiet because their nerves are solid and they have a ton of prey drive. A bay dog is slightly afraid so he bays. Ideally this cross should ensure the pup is silent until he gets to the hog and then should bay and maybe catch. Should be a rough dog with a good nose.
